CNC Machines
H2I Group supplies industrial quality CNC machines, tools and solutions to be used in an educational setting and prepare students with skills to be used in advanced manufacturing. The acronym CNC stands for computer numerical control, which is a process of using a computer-driven machine tool to produce a part out of solid material in a different shape. This is also known as subtractive manufacturing.
CNC machines are run automatically with Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) or Computer Aided Design (CAD) software that gives the instructions (G Code) as to what tools and axes the machine should use in the cutting process. The different types of CNC machines use different cutting tools to provide a variety of results. Common CNC machines include plasma cutters, lathes, milling machines, and routers.
Access to these tools gives students an opportunity to learn hands-on skills that mimic industry standard manufacturing processes while learning design, engineering, and production skills that are transferable to the workplace.
