H2I Group is excited to showcase our recent involvement in the renovation and expansion of the San Diego State University (SDSU) Aztec Recreation Center (ARC). Working closely with McCarthy Builders and the SDSU Associated Students group, H2I Group provided state-of-the-art athletic equipment solutions by Draper and other top manufacturers for this on-campus athletic facility.

Spanning 133,000 square feet, the project was unique in that it was fully funded by students, reflecting the strong need and desire for this modernized and expanded facility. The first phase involved constructing a new addition to the existing center, followed by the renovation of the existing gyms in the second phase.

H2I Group played a significant role in the project by supplying and installing fold up gym divider curtains, wall pads, safety barrier netting, overhead volleyball systems, and new ceiling suspended, side fold basketball hoops. Additionally, H2I Group also modernized the existing ceiling suspended basketball hoops during the renovation by providing new winches, cable, pulleys, rims, bolt-on edge padding, and safety straps. These efforts contributed to the exceptional athletic experience now available at the ARC.

The renovated Aztec Recreation Center now boasts a range of versatile and modern athletic spaces, including an Olympic weightlifting area, yoga studios, dance studios, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and multiple multi-use athletic spaces.

Now one of the most used facilities on campus, the SDSU Aztec Recreation Center stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of providing students with top-tier athletic resources to support their overall well-being and success.
