ABOUT THE PROJECT
The University of Wyoming needed a Tier-One science facility to compete with the other major Universities in the region as well as a tool to attract more students. The Science Initiative building is pioneering the way for the University of Wyoming’s Top-Tier Science Initiative Program, which is focused on enabling world-class research and education that will strengthen the foundations of Wyoming’s present and future economy. The building houses two new research centers: the Center for Advanced Scientific Instrumentation and the Center for Integrative Biological Research. Strategically placed collaboration spaces serve to develop interdisciplinary research activities involving chemists, physicists, astronomers, and biologists.
GE Johnson Construction Company was selected as well as Perkins + Will was chosen to be the architect of the project. H2I Group was chosen based on our past performances, product pricing, financial stability, and overall team experience. Early in the process, we assisted Perkins + Will with the 3D modeling of the laboratory spaces. In partnership with our many manufacturing partners, we provided metal casework, fume hoods, epoxy resin countertops, environmental rooms, autoclave, laboratory fixtures, stainless steel products, and stainless steel sinks. We provide a team approach from estimation to installation on this project.
