ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project was part of a multi-phase renovation of the historic Hutchinson Building in downtown New Orleans and was delivered through a strong collaboration between Tulane University, H2I Group, DonahueFavret (Construction Manager), and Payette (Architect and Lab Consultant).
H2I Group participated in BIM coordination throughout the project, working closely with the design and construction teams to model and integrate the full scope of laboratory infrastructure. Detailed 3D coordination across all specialty systems ensured precise fit and seamless installation within the historic structure. This extensive BIM effort was instrumental in aligning the work of multiple trades and maintaining the project’s schedule and quality standards.
The laboratory bench systems, wood casework, and fume hoods featured high-end finishes and custom options, demanding close collaboration among all project partners. Through detailed planning, proactive communication, and a shared commitment to quality, H2I Group successfully delivered a solution that met both functional requirements and design expectations.
