ABOUT THE PROJECT
H2I Group partnered with HGA and Whiting-Turner on Building X, a 132,500-square-foot research facility at the University of Delaware that replaced the former McKinly Hall. The building includes three above-ground floors, a mechanical penthouse, and a full basement dedicated to physics laboratories. Part of the College of Arts and Sciences, it connects to the Life Sciences Research Building by bridge and is organized around thematic research areas, blending damp and dry lab spaces for 48 research scientists across physics, biology, and psychology, while serving more than 1,000 students annually in four teaching labs. H2I Group provided laboratory casework, benches, and fume hoods to support the facility’s research and teaching mission.
